Welcome Freshers
This year's fresher sessions are:
Clifton Site: Wednesday 8th October, 3-5pm in the PE Gym
City Site: Sunday 12th October, 2-4pm in the Byron Refectory
Fresher sessions typcially happen at the start of the year but this information is also handy for people wanting to join in all year round. We welcome newcomers at almost any time of the year.
A fresher session is a Jitsu training session for beginners/freshers and people new to our organisation welcoming them to the Nottingham Trent Jitsu Club.
It doesn't matter if you haven't done any martial arts before. It doesn't matter if you don't want to aim for a black belt. It only matters that you want to come along, learn and have some fun.
There are two fresher sessions at the start of the year: ( dates and venue to be decided). We'll be located in the sports hall at Byron House (The Student Union)for the session at the city campus on the Wednesday and the PE gym at the Clifton campus (behind the bus stop)on the Sunday.
The freshers try it or taster session this year is on Tuesday 6th October, Clifton PE gym, 5pm - 7pm.
 Afterwards we'll be organising some refreshment in the nearest Bar and you can harass the grades with any questions you have remaining after the session.You'll only need to bring loose clothing to wear. Tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt top is perfect. Remember to remove all jewelery before getting on the mat, this is for your own safety.
So come along and bring yourself and some enthusiasm. House mates and friends are welcome because we know from experience that if you don't bring them, they'll suffer later when you get home and want to try out what you've learned at the class.
The first sessions are not scary or overly complicated. We've been teaching people from scratch for years and also welcoming martial artists from other backgrounds to the skills of jiu-jitsu.
